Behind the gallery walls

The original
cast of characters.

Seven paintings. Centuries of personality. The browser playground uses the same public-domain museum images bundled in ArtWindow.

Images are provided under CC0 1.0. Website renditions are proportionally reduced and encoded as WebP. The playground overlays a movable opening and a drawn expression; it is an illustration, not a museum image of the altered artwork.
